EXCURSION 8 DAYS FROM CASABLANCA BY MARRUECOS VIA FEZ DESERT MERZOUGA MARRAKECH

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT

We will pick you up from the Casablanca airport, and visit the Hassan II Mosque. Then we left for the capital of Morocco; Rabat, where we will visit some of its historical monuments, the Kasabah of the Oudaias, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: RABAT FEZ:

Departure in the direction of Meknes, passing through the forest of Mamora which is located in the northeast of Rabat, and which has one of the main cork oak forests of the country. The cork oak is exploited by the cork (Morocco is one of the largest producers of cork worldwide) and wood. A very valuable tree that occupies some 134,000 hectares here, although the eucalyptus does not stop gaining ground, especially in the northern sector, to be able to feed the pulp and pulp industry. The best time to visit this forest with the air of a park is spring, when the ground is covered with a mantle of flowers.

We will arrive at Meknes the city of Sultan Molay Ismail, and from there we will take a 27 km route to reach Volubilis the ancient Roman city, where the best preserved archaeological remains can be found. Then, we will leave a bit of this Roman city to visit Molay Idriss Zarhun, the pilgrimage center of the Moroccans.

Finally we will continue our trip to Fez, where we will have dinner and spend the night in Riyadh

DAY 3: FEZ – FEZ:

Free day in Fez, the most famous imperial city in Morocco. In addition to being the best preserved, it is also the most amazing, because of the multitude of palaces, gardens and ancient monuments it houses.

Going into his old Medina is a very good idea, it will make us feel with a past that is still palpable, it is a real pleasure: the guild structure is still present in the work, the narrowness of its streets only allows us to pass through the donkeys and a constant tingling of people moves through the labyrinthine streets in the midst of which we will be surprised neighborhoods like the Andalusian and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools (Alquarauin, Bounania).

After this visit to the medina, we will walk aimlessly through the streets of Fez-Jdid, where we will enjoy the view of multiple sites such as: the royal palace, the mellah (Jewish quarter) and the oldest mosque in Fez.

DAY 4: FEZ – IFRANE AZROU – MIDELT – ERRACHIDIA – ZIZ VALLEY – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA:

Breakfast and departure towards Midelt, on the way we will pass through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. The passage through the Moroccan Switzerland (IFRANE) will be unforgettable, in it there is a charming ski resort where we can enjoy a little. Then we will continue to Azrou, a beautiful town famous for its wonderful cedar forests. Once we leave the Zad pass (2178m / 7146ft), we will arrive at Midelt, and have lunch there.

In the afternoon, we will go towards Erfoud and Errachidia through the Ziz Valley, enjoying along the way with beautiful landscapes dotted with palm trees. Next we will go to the sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi. Once arrived, we will change the 4 × 4 by dromedaries to cross the great dunes of the desert during a two-hour tour.

We will spend the night in nomadic shops Haimas in the desert, delighting in the stars, the moon, the sunset, the sunrise … etc. Dinner and accommodation in Haimas.

DAY 5: MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – RISSANI – VALLE DEL DRAA -OUARZAZATE:

In the morning return to the hotel in camels, breakfast and shower. Afterwards, we will visit Khamlia, a town originally from Mali, where the black slaves descended from Africa live, relax a little there drinking mint tea and enjoying a small concert of gnawa music. Next we will make a small tour through the dunes of the Erg Chebbi in 4 × 4, extension of sand desert in which the Great Dune of Morocco, of more than 250 meters of altitude.

For what follows, we will stop in an unforgettable landscape where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. Then, we will go to Rissani, the first imperial city, where we will visit the legendary market where the nomads of the surrounding area come to sell their livestock and buy the belongings they need. We can also try if you like the delicious Berber pizza that is only cooked there . We will continue our trip to Ouarzazate passing through the Draa Valley, one of the immense rivers of Morocco. Along the way we will make several stops to see the impressive adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

 

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH:

Breakfast and departure to visit the famous kasabah of Ait Ben Haddou, classified Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and place where several mythical films have been filmed as Gladiator, El Sahara, Babel … etc. We travel the 200 km that separate Ouarzazate from Marrakech, while we will observe panoramic landscapes all the way. To break the routine of the day, we will take the road of the old caravan route that linked the two cities through the Ounila Valley, where kasbahs are built in caves and will also take us to Telouet. We will continue to Marrakech “the red city”. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7: MARRAKECH – MARRAKECH:

Breakfast and departure to start our visit to the city of Marrakech in order to know its most famous historical monuments such as: the mosque of Koutoubia, Bahia Palace of the 19th century with its beautiful architecture, Saadian Tombs of the 16th century; all decorated with colorful mosaics, passing through the medina or the Mellah and the souks of the Jamaa El Fna Square that will occupy much of our time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and unrepeatable sensations, we will take advantage of our meeting there to visit its souks fascinating and the alleys around the Jamaa el-Fna square and enjoy the enchanting snakes, singers, acrobats, dancers, storytellers and storytellers … etc. In addition, we will visit the modern city (Gueliz) with its western ways of life. Dinner and accommodation in Hotel or riad.

DAY 8: MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA AIRPORT

We will transfer to the airport of Casablanca at the appropriate time with your flight and end of our services. Happy journey.
