6 DAYS FROM CASABLANCA VIA FEZ – MERZOUGA – MARRAKECH
DAY 1: CASABLANCA – FEZ:
We will pick you up from the airport and transfer to Fez the cultural capital of Morocco.
DAY 2: FEZ- FEZ:
We will dedicate this day to visit the imperial city of Fez, the cultural capital of Morocco. Then, we will take a walk in the medina to discover its madness, its endless souks, have a tea in one of its terraces, visit its historical monuments, its Koranic schools (Bouanania, Attourin), and visit the famous Alquarauin Mosque which is the first world university. In addition to all this we will try to taste their delicious dishes, the couscous and the Tajine, and we will visit their tannins and not stop smelling, looking and feeling their atmosphere. Lunch in a typical restaurant in the Medina and free afternoon. Accommodation in Hotel or Riad.
DAY 3: FEZ – LAS DUNAS DE MERZOUGA:
fter breakfast we will go to the beautiful dunes of Merzouga, passing through Ifrane the so-called “Moroccan Switzerland”. We will stop in Azrou to visit the Cedros forest, see the monkeys climbing the cedars and take some photos. Then we will continue our journey through the beautiful mountains of the Middle Atlas, passing through several towns such as Midelt and the Ziz River. In this last place we will stop a bit to take pictures of some impressive panoramic views over the gorges of this river. After, we will continue to the city of Erfoud famous for the fossils that are extracted from the rocks.
We will arrive at the dunes of “Erg Chebbi” in Merzouga, where the peace and tranquility of the desert reigns to enjoy more we will ride on dromedaries that will take us to attend an unforgettable sunset in the middle of the desert. Great night in the middle of the desert. Dinner and accommodation in Haima Berber.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA- OUARZAZATE:
It is worth getting up early to contemplate the beautiful spectacle of sunrise over the sea of dunes. After sunrise, we will ride on dromedaries to return to the lodge where we will shower and have breakfast. Then we will continue our journey to Rissani, Morocco’s first imperial city, that is, origin of the Alaoui dynasty and ancient capital of Alaouis sultans, in Rissani we will visit its legendary market is the largest in the south of Morocco, where you can find almost anything, getting into it is a good idea.
Then, we will go to Tazzarine crossing Alnif and the famous gorges of the todra where we will make a stop. Then we will continue towards the Valley of Dades, where we will take a road that allows us to admire the ksours and the kasabahs of the Valley of the Roses and, then, we will continue to the palm grove of the oases of Skoura.
At the end we will arrive to Ouarzazate where we will have dinner and spend the night in one of its comfortable hotels.
DAY5: OUARZAZATE – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU-MARRAKECH:
Breakfast and departure towards Marrakech. Before following the route to “the Red City” (Maarrakech) we will go to the Kasabah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage site where several mythical films have been located such as Gladiator, The Sahara, The Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix and Obelix … etc.
Then we will follow the route to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains by the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest port in Morocco, with 2260 meters high and with its fabulous views.
We will arrive in the afternoon to Marrakech and end of the route.
DAY 6: MARRAKECH-CASABLANCA:
In the morning we will go to the economic capital of Morocco, Casablanca. There we will visit his famous mosque of Hassan II, one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world. In the afternoon we will transfer to the hotel.
- Transportation with a Spanish-speaking driver at your disposal during all days of the trip.
- Accommodation with half board (Dinner and breakfast) nights in hotels, except dinner in Marrakeh, only breakfast.
- Excursion in dromedaries through the desert and sleep in jaimas Berber in the desert.
- Transfers to the airports. Know and see very important wetlands over the country.
